This book chronicles the Fukuoka-based shop Blumo from 2018 to 2024, documenting the period of its first physical location.
Blumo is a shop in Fukuoka that curates and sells a diverse range of objects and furniture—including European vintage vases, original products, and works by domestic and international artists—presented in dialogue with flowers and plants. This volume comprises a wealth of images selected from an archive of approximately 3,000 photographs taken continuously on film over six years by the owner, Akito Oji. The plates feature shop interiors, exhibition records, products, and scenes from sourcing trips.
The cover utilises FRP (Fibre-Reinforced Plastic), a material also used in the shop's interior design. The spine is bound using a specialised gluing technique with transparent resin, creating organic irregularities that allow readers to experience a distinct materiality. Offering a reading experience through both sight and touch, it is a publication that functions almost as an objet d'art. Please note that the FRP cover and the resin spine will undergo natural changes in colour and texture over time.
