デザインスタジオ〈well〉による洋服コレクション『#33 ANGLE OF REPOSE』（2026）に合わせて刊行された、同タイトルのA1サイズポスター。日本語には「安息角」と訳されるこのフレーズは、地質工学用語ながらも詩的な含みがあることから、古今東西あらゆる作家や作り手が作品名やシリーズ・タイトルに冠しています。

本ポスター上では「angle of repose」のきわめて説明的なビジュアルと、それがタイトルとして使われている作品らの解説・顛末が紹介されています。ひとつの言葉のイメージがさまざまな表現活動の足がかりとなり、そうして名付けられ、更にそれらの作品自体も互いに干渉してゆく様子が描かれています。しかし、これは百科事典的なフィクションでもあります。ちなみに、〈well〉がコレクション名を「ANGLE OF REPOSE」としたのは、批評家のマーティン・ハーバートが現代美術誌『Artforum』に寄せた「ANGLE OF REPOSE : THE ART OF ANDREA BÜTTNER」（2015）において展開されたアンドレア・ビュットナー評をきっかけとしています。テキストは浅見旬、デザインは村尾雄太による。

This A1-sized poster was published to accompany the clothing collection "#33 ANGLE OF REPOSE" (2026) by the design studio well.

While "angle of repose" (translated into Japanese as ansoku-kaku) is a technical term used in geotechnical engineering, its poetic resonance has led countless artists and creators throughout history to adopt it as a title for their works and series. This poster features a highly literal visualization of the "angle of repose" alongside descriptions and outcomes of various works that share the title. It illustrates how a single verbal image can serve as a foothold for diverse creative activities—how works are named, and how those works, in turn, begin to influence one another.However, this is also a piece of encyclopedic fiction.

For context, well titled their collection "ANGLE OF REPOSE" after being inspired by critic Martin Herbert’s review of Andrea Büttner, titled "ANGLE OF REPOSE: THE ART OF ANDREA BÜTTNER" (2015), which appeared in the contemporary art magazine Artforum.
