In the spring of 2015, Joel Meyerowitz, one of the leading figures in New Colour photography, spent time in the Bologna studio where the painter Giorgio Morandi once lived. In this space, approximately fifty years after the painter's death, Meyerowitz photographed the bottles, vases, and jugs used in Morandi's iconic still lifes, capturing each item individually under the exact same lighting conditions.
Serving as an expanded and revised edition of Morandi's Objects (Damiani, 2016), this new volume features over 130 additional plates. Encompassing the complete archive of objects left in Morandi's studio, it stands as an invaluable historical document.
