Martin Margiela departed from Maison Martin Margiela, the house he founded in 1988, to withdraw from the fashion spotlight. This publication serves as the exhibition catalogue for his first solo exhibition as an artist, MARTIN MARGIELA, held at Lafayette Anticipations in 2021. Across 350 pages, the book meticulously documents the entire creative process, featuring not only plates of the works showcased in the exhibition but also 'making-of' photographs captured by Margiela himself during production. The book was edited by Lafayette Anticipations (the Paris gallery housed in a notable OMA-renovated building and the venue for the exhibition) and designed by the Dutch book designer Irma Boom, all under the direct supervision of Margiela himself.
