In an age where algorithms arbitrarily curate fragments of the past, and AI generates information that even includes fabrications, we are confronted with an uncertain information environment of 'what is fact and what is fiction'. Editors and curators Kate Rhodes and Rory Hyde cast a critical eye over this excessive and passive digital curation.The book juxtaposes disparate images across different genres and eras—from medieval manuscripts and street photography to civil infrastructure records and fashion shows—without traditional indexing. Furthermore, it documents the physical environment of the library, such as shelves, archival boxes, and server racks, alongside the daily working scenes of the librarians and specialists who organise and protect these materials on-site.
