A photobook by French photographer Romain Laprade. In Hallways, the artist focuses on the entrance halls of Parisian residential buildings constructed between the 1950s and 1980s. Wandering through Paris over several years, he has collected these often-overlooked "hidden treasures", capturing the textures of marble and mosaics, geometric patterns, brass lighting fixtures, and sculptural letterboxes. Detached from their urban context, these entrance halls emerge as autonomous, abstract spaces. Their continuity, captured through the photographer's sensitive gaze, is depicted across a volume of over 300 pages. Accompanied by a text by architect and writer Jean-Claude Girard, the book quietly interprets these transitional spaces—bridging public areas and private domestic life—as sites of everyday experience.
