オランダを拠点に活動するアーティスト、サラ・ファン・ライ（Sarah van Rij）の作品集。本書は、2018年以降に制作されたモノクロとカラー写真、そしてコラージュ作品を収録し、写真家としての初期から現在に至るまでの変遷を辿る一冊です。 カメラとiPhoneを自在に使い分け、都市の風景、自然、日常のオブジェ、そして人物を捉えたそのイメージ群は、断片的でありながらも、作家独自の色彩感覚とレイヤー構造によって一貫した美学を放っています。デザインは、パリを拠点に活動するデザインスタジオ〈Studio Mathieu Meyer〉によるもの。作品を分析的かつ遊び心のある形で読み解く索引で、作者の制作の背後にある、独特の形式的語彙を明らかにします。

Atlas of Echoes is the first monograph on the work of Dutch artist Sarah van Rij. The book immerses the reader in her entire oeuvre, bringing together her black-and-white and colour photography, as well as the collages created since 2018, and in doing so charts the journey from her beginnings as a photographer to her most recent work. Whether captured on a camera or an iPhone, her images explore a wide range of subjects — urban and natural landscapes, everyday objects, the human figure – at the same time as they advocate the singular and coherent aesthetic that has become the artist’s visual signature.


Designed by Studio Mathieu Meyer in close collaboration with the artist, with an index offering an analytical and playful reading of her work, Atlas of Echoes reveals the singular formal vocabulary behind van Rij’s practice.
